Done Hopping

I finally got through all of the BSBP blogs.  This was a fantastic journey and a crazy number of participants.  I have no idea how so many of you made it through so quickly.  There were so many talented people with so many beautiful creations, I think I'm going to have sensory overload until January.  Thanks for sharing and letting me participate.

The soup is done

Well here it is, my finished soup.  I had to take the pictures with my ipad at work because I forgot to leave it at home for my daughter to take them.  I'm really not sure if it's finished yet.  I like it but it's pretty simple.  I was a bit afraid of taking away from the beauty of the focal.  I used the enameled wire to do the wrapped loop and the small enameled beads for the fringe.  I have a bunch more to use but I may be posting more in a while:)

Thanks again to my partner Lynne Bowland, see what she's made with the beads I've sent her here.

And visit the rest of the blogs, the list is here it should be great fun.

Makeover Monday?

Both my children are now adults so on my first day of PTO (paid time off for those of you who still have vacation and/or sick days), I went and got my hair whacked off and a tattoo:)  I had a henna tattoo done at a renaissance fair a few weeks ago and I really liked it.  It's also been a couple of years since I've drastically cut my hair.  So, I left my house at 8:30 am this morning went to my friend who does my hair; drove north to the tattoo place, where my 18 year old daughter and all her friends have been recently; consulted with the tattoo dudes; went to lunch at my favorite Indian restaurant (which happens to be across the street from the tattoo place) and then went back and got the tattoo.  All in all a pretty productive day for my inner rebel.  Here are the results as seen by my computer's camera.

The reason to Blog

My bead soup came and it's fantastic.  I only hope I can do it justice.  My partner is Lynne Bowland of Fireballbeedz  Here it is (minus a few more enameled beads I just found in my box with the focals this morning).

The Beginning

On Friday I met Lori Anderson and Cindy Wimmer at the Bead & Button Show.  I had met Lori before both virtually and in person and it was wonderful to see her again.  It was great meeting Cindy too.  Cindy convinced me that I absolutely should start a blog and that I don't have to post often so I'm giving it a shot.  This will give me a chance to participate in Lori's Bead Soup Blog Party which I've always wanted to do.  Of course that means that I'm going to have to send things and finish things within a time limit so we'll see how this goes.
